Syncing two iTunes Libraries using TuneAid

Using TuneAid makes it easy to sync two iTunes Libraries :

  1. Lets say your iPod, Touch, iPhone is syncronised with your library at home and you wish to have the same library at work.
  2. Grab your device and plug it into your computer at work. If iTunes asks you anything just click on Cancel.
  3. Open TuneAid and click on "Copy to iTunes" -> Whole iPod.
  4. All tracks, personal data (Playcounts etc) and Playlists will be imported in iTunes. TuneAid checks for duplicates, so only newly added tracks will be added to iTunes
  5. Now each time you add tracks to your device from home just go through the same steps. TuneAid will add each new tracks but skip duplicates. Tracks will also be imported in Playlists.

Tracks are already in iTunes, I just want to update my metadata and playlists :

  1. You should start clean in iTunes for that. Just select all your tracks in iTunes and Edit -> Delete. When iTunes asks you if you wish to move tracks to the Trash click on YES. ATTENTION, all tracks that were in iTunes but not on your iPod will also be deleted!
  2. Then simply import all your tracks as described in the previous section.
