If TuneAid proposes to use the Hard Recovery Mode or if you choose to do so manually, it probaly means that the Internal reference Database in your iPod is corrupted. The following limitations in the Copy process will apply:
- Some fields which are stored in the iPod reference Database will not be copied back in iTunes (Rating, Play Count, Skip Count, Start Time, Stop Time, Date Last played, Skipped Date).
- Playlists will not imported in iTunes.
- You will not be given the choice which track to copy, it’s all or nothing.
- If you choose to backup to a folder, files will be saved in 4 letters file names, not the actual track name. However, if these files are imported back in iTunes they will be renamed as they were originally named.
- If you choose to backup to iTunes, tracks will be imported with the original tag information (Artist, Album etc.)
