DiskAid FAQ
Why don’t I have access to the Root Folder of my iPhone or iPod Touch?
- To access the entire filesystem of you device, you need a jailbroken device. If your device isn?t jailbroken you will only have access to the Media Folder.
I have a jailbreak, and Diskaid is not letting me in Root folder, it is greyed out, why is that?
- There is a missing config file within “Blackra1n” that prevents DiskAid to access Root folder. You can fix that by downloading the “afc2add” from Cydia!
When I’m in folders /iTunes_Control/Music/F00 … , I can’t view Music and Video titles.
- It’s because the iPod stores them in a Apple proprietary database. To retrieve Music and Videos from your device, use TuneAid. TuneAid lets you view your entire iPod library (track names, artists, albums, playlists, ratings…) and then transfer them to your computer.
When I’m in folders /Photos … , I can’t view my picture and photos albums synced using iTunes.
- It’s because the iPod stores them in a Apple proprietary database. To retrieve Picture from your device, use PicsAid. PicsAid lets you view your entire iPod Photo library and then transfer it to your computer.
Why is there a free disk space discrepancy between DiskAid and iTunes?
- The Free space you see in iTunes is the total free memory available on the Device. DiskAid only displays the available space of the current partition you are browsing (DiskAid Folder, Media Folder and Root Folder). The total available free space of your device is not shown in DiskAid.
