Import iPhone and iPad File Attachments from Mail

Importing email attachments is easy and allows to store permanently the files for later use, on the device or further on a computer.

Saving a Mail attachement in FileApp

The following example shows a method where the Mail viewer is capable of displaying the file attached. It is not necessary the case, and the next example below shows how to save unsupported file formats.

  1. Open the attachement in Mail once it has been totally downloaded from the mail server.

  2. As the file opens in Mail’s file viewer, select the option to ‘Open in…’ and from the available options select FileApp.

  3. The file appears in the ‘Imported files’ automatically created folder in FileApp with the name of the document displayed.

FileApp offers similar document interaction capabilities with many other third party apps!
